Electric fencing for horses is not working?
OK, we are puzzled. We have around. 1 1 / 4 acre paddock. We reached the news feed the top is all well placed with insulators, etc and yellow fence line has been completely cleared of any what could possibly come into contact with it. We bought a fence charger (Gallagher Wrangler), hooked it to the ground rod and connected The unit is clicking well, but there is no charge, using the wire. We're totally at a loss. Is there something we missed? The horse was out and we are in a desperate situation. PS We have a fence panel solar charger, but the battery is charged and we use electricity in the meantime. We must keep the horse before a disaster occurs. Thank you!
How many power through the line depends on the quality of the ground rod is. This should be as deep as possible into the ground (I run around my electric fields that would be about 5 miles total (with the double-stranded) ground rod I use is about eight feet deep. You can also drench the soil around the stem if the soil is very dry. Do you have the ground wire and wire fence in the right direction and as someone said make sure there is good contact.
